Sold out Epidendrum magnoliae v. magnoliae wild #4042 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This is found from Florida to North Carolina and west near the Gulf of Mexico through Alabama, Missippi, and Louisiana to near the Texas border. The seed for this flask came from a population in northern Florida. Generally considered at miniature, they can get up to 12” tall. They are usually found as epiphytes but occassional are found as lithophyte. It can have up to 18 of the sweetly fragrant flowers on an inflorescence which are open all at one time. For many years this was known as Epidendrum conopseum Culture: Winters are cool with night temperatures in the 40’s while summer temperatures are warm to hot. There is rainfall all year that is heaver during the summer months. The roots need to dry quickly and a stale conditions around the roots should be avoided. If potted, use an open fast draining medium and use a relatively small pot. If grown mounted, insure good humidity and frequent waterings. Grow in moderately bright light.
