Loefgrenianthus blanche-amesiae outcross #6867 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). The Species: This miniature species is rarely seen and not the easiest to grow. It is found in south-eastern Brazil in shady locations as an epiphyte with moss and lichen in humid wet forest. The elevation range is from 3,000 to 6600 ft with most being found at the upper elevations. It is a pendant plant with sparkling flowers, a yellow lip and a contrasting maroon spot that is the anther cap. The flowers are up to 0.4" wide, last 7 to 10 days and bloom one or two on an inflorescence. Seed grown plants could be more accommodating than collected ones. Culture: Because of the pendant nature and the space between growths, this is best grown as mounted plant in intermediate to cool conditions with good humidity, good quality water and moderate light as for Pleurothallids. I use dilute fertilizer year round. The plants should be moist but not wet and prefer high humidity Since I don't have images of the parents of this cross, I show here images representative of the species.
