|
Thysanoglossa jordanensis #6878 (approximately 25 seedlings per flask). Species: With a 1.6” tall plant and flowers larger than the plant, this is definitely a micro-miniature species. The inflorescence is close to 2.5” long and carries few to several of the intricate flowers. Named for Campos do Jordão, an area of São Paulo state in Brazil, where it was discovered. It is related to Chytroglossa and Platyrhiza and grows as a twig epiphyte that is found at elevations around 3100 ft. I don't have have images of the parents, so show here some images of this species that show it well. My thanks to Ron Parsons for permission to use his images. Culture: Grow in intermediate to warm temperatures. Water year round with dilute fertilizer and allow to approach dryness between watering. It can be grown mounted or potted. If it is potted, use a small pot with a fast draining medium. It needs medium light to shade and good humitity. Parents: I don't have have images of the parents so show here some images of this species. If you look closely in the 2nd & 3rd images you can see the relative size of the flowers to the plant. My thanks to Ron Parsons for permission to use his images.
